Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated
Mentionwell is a content tool — what you publish carries your name. We trust you to use it responsibly. The rules below exist to keep the Service safe and useful for everyone.
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements the Terms of Service and applies to anyone who uses Mentionwell, anything you upload to it, and anything we generate for you through it.
2. Prohibited content
You may not use the Service to create, host, or distribute content that:
- Is unlawful, infringes intellectual property, or violates trade-secret or privacy rights.
- Promotes or facilitates violence, self-harm, terrorism, or organized hate.
- Is sexually explicit; involves minors in any sexual context (we report violations to authorities).
- Is defamatory, knowingly false, or designed to mislead readers about a real person, brand, or event.
- Discloses private personal information without consent, including doxxing or harassment campaigns.
- Promotes regulated activity in jurisdictions where it is unlawful (medical, legal, or financial advice presented as authoritative without proper qualifications).
3. Platform abuse
You may not, and may not enable anyone else to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source of the Service.
- Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities of the Service except via our vulnerability disclosure process.
- Attempt to overwhelm, evade rate limits on, or interfere with the Service.
- Use automated means to register accounts, spam the API, or scrape content beyond your own.
- Impersonate others or use another account.
- Resell or sublicense the Service except via features expressly designed for that purpose.
4. AI-specific rules
Because Mentionwell produces AI-generated content, additional rules apply:
- Do not use generated content to deceive readers about whether it was created with AI assistance, where disclosure is legally required.
- Do not use the Service to generate impersonations of real people without their consent.
- Do not use the Service to produce content intended to manipulate elections, vaccinate hesitancy, or manufactured urgency in financial markets.
- Do not use the Service to generate content that violates the acceptable-use policies of our model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, fal.ai). See Subprocessors for direct links.
- Do not use the Service to train a competing AI model.
5. Enforcement
If we identify a violation, we may, at our discretion and proportionate to the violation: warn you, remove offending content, restrict your account, suspend your account, or terminate your subscription. Where we suspect illegal activity, we may report it to authorities. Where the violation is material or urgent, we may act without prior notice.
6. Report a violation
Email abuse@mentionwell.com with the URL of the offending content, the nature of the violation, and any context that helps us investigate. For copyright complaints, follow the DMCA process.
